Description
-The Spiral Lady spider, a rare breed of arachnid most often used as familiars for sorcerer's due to their superior intelligence. Their bright colors are an evolution to blend in among the phosphorescent forests of fungus they originate from, and their webbing is often braided together to use as harnesses and security wires. The hooks on the spiders back aid in its balance when hanging from its own webs, its poison is a mix of hemotoxin and myotoxin, and it roughly grows to the size of a house cat.
These spiders, despite the deceptive name, have no difference between their male and female genders except that the personality of the females is far more aggressively protective of whoever their master happens to be, while the males are quieter and more passive.
Spiral Ladies enjoy relaxing on their master's shoulders, can understand basic commands whether verbal or telepathic, and can be trained to retrieve objects or small animals.
The harvesting of large fungus colonies has caused a steep decline in this species of arachnid, and though they are highly sought after by mages, are not often found or tamed.
